Dear MPI-2 forum, Why were no new error classes introduced for the new MPI-2 functionality (one-sided comm, io, process management, info)? A few would have been natural, as it is now it appears that error codes pertaining to, say, IO have to map to ackward classes like MPI_ERR_ARG or whatever by the MPI_Error_class function Jesper
