RT support in router

Dear every members.

I have a novice to MPI, so if my questions are non-sense,
just ignore them.

My main interest is H/W router design for communication network of paralle computer.
So, I want to know whether your discussion ranges over H/W router design to
support for Real-time communications.
If so, what is router design with some agreement until now?
Otherwise, what router architecture do you assume,
considering RT-MPI?
