I would like to see a positive statement on how MPI_MODE_SEQUENTIAL is
meant to work. I would suggest adding a sentence like the following to the
paragraph on pp.219 line 22:

Files opened in this mode may only be accessed using the shared file
pointer routines of Section 10.4.4.

Then the statements about erroneous use on page 232 line 27 and page 235
line 38 become redundant and could be removed.
