Is there really no system-independant way to do this? Can't we say that
users should include "mpiio.h" and linke to a "mpiio" library?
Different systems will implement this differently (i.e. the library will
actually be libmpiio.a on POSIX machines, but could be completely
different on wintel machines, for example), but if the names are
standard, then that would provide good guidence for Makefiles and
whatnot.
