Dear Group,
Enclosed is a new proposal for spawning processes from MPI. This
proposal is nearly identical in functionality to the proposal of the
last meeting, but provides a much simpler and cleaner interface.
This proposal seems quite reasonable to me. I'm not too clear on who
should call Detach (there's no communicator, so who is it collective
over in the parent group?) and whether several parent processes are
allowed to call Spawn() simultaneously and so on, but I think it's a
very good start.
Also, this points towards merging spawn with client/server, which
would be ideal. After all child_attach is pretty similar functionally
to accept/connect, except that the magic info is passed down to the
children invisibly.
