I think that we should seriously consider Marc's proposal. At several
of the early collective subcommittee meetings I discussed the fact
that I did not like the symmetry in the current proposal nor the
analogy to the current collective calls. I am to blame for not
following up and am glad Marc did. His proposal seems more coherent
and slicker than what I had said. I also agree with Tony that we need
to look it over to make sure we like it. One nice feature that Nathan
points out is that the current proposal does not require new calling
arguments. Will Marc be coming out with a a more detailed proposal or
are others going to do this? I think it is clearly too late to do it
for SC95 but it might be nice to have a proposal for the Vienna
meeting.
